for Trumpet Addicts...

This page has pictures of some horns I made.  They are not for sale, but I thought people might find them interesting.

High Trumpets

These are some trumpets I made in the mid 1990s, using Bach leadpipes (and other parts).  The first one is a fixed bell Eb based on some of the Malone/Bach Ebs.  The second one is a tuning bell "Schilke Style" F trumpet made with Bach parts.  The lower two are a tuning bell piccolo with bodies in Bb/A and G.  The idea of making a "Schilke with Bach parts"  is definitely not a new idea--  the Schilke Custom shop used to do it on request, and Cliff Blackburn made some great Eb/D "Schilke out of Bach parts" conversions in the 1980s before he started making his own horns.

"Herseth" Mt. Vernon Bach C Trumpet Copy

This is a copy I made of Adolf Herseth’s favorite Mt. Vernon Bach C trumpet.  For a bunch of details click here.

Baroque Trumpets

These are 2 Baroque trumpets that I made.  I started with sheet brass, and hammered the bells by hand (no spinning).  The tubing is all "seamed".  The horns are based on original instruments made by Veit, and Pfeifer.  The mouthpieces are based on the big, flat rimmed mouthpieces they used in the Baroque period.
